Agreement with the London Borough of Newham
"the General Collection"
the items in the inventory prepared by Simon Timberlake
in 1993 (for Geology) and by Theresa Wild and Ken
Adams in 1998 (for Natural History) with relevant
catalogues indexes and Accession Registers and other
relevant documents which have been agreed by the parties
hereto and copies of which have been retained by each of
them;
"the Governors"
the body established by the 1956 Agreement and then
known as "the Governors of the Passmore Edwards
Museum" but now known as "the Newham Museum
Service Governing Body";
"the Library"
the collection of books listed in the inventory which has
been agreed by the parties hereto and a copy of which has
been retained by each of them;
"the Museum Fund" the fund maintained by the Governors under the Second
Schedule to the 1956 Agreement
On the date hereof:
a) the 1956 Agreement shall become void and shall cease to have effect
b) the Governors shall be dissolved
c) the General Collection shall be vested in the Club
d) the Library shall be vested in the Club
e) the Museum Fund shall be closed and two-thirds of the balance shall be
retained by the Council and (subject to Clause 3 hereof) one-third shall be
paid to the Club the relevant amounts to be certified by the Council's
Assistant Director of Finance
f) all other assets and liabilities currently vested in the Governors shall be
vested in the Council
