There are 75 known Palmate Newt sites within Essex dating back over the last 30 years. The most recent records have been entered on Biobase (6 Thurner Automation 2000) and a distribution map has been created using Dmap (8 Alan Morton) to show the current distribution of Palmate Newt in Essex (Fig 1).
