The present review collates 154 Palmate Newt records from 12 individuals (recorders) for Essex.
There are 75 known Palmate Newt sites within Essex dating back over the last 30 years. The most
recent records have been entered on Biobase (6 Thurner Automation 2000) and a distribution map
has been created using Dmap (8 Alan Morton) to show the current distribution of Palmate Newt in
Essex (Fig 1).
