Species text
Acupalpus exiguus is a widespread but local ground beetle recorded in England, and also from North Wales. It is possibly more frequent in the Weald of Kent than elsewhere. The beetle is often found on the coast, on seashores and in saltmarshes, but also inland, on river margins, in grassland on clay soils and amongst debris on mud or silt at the margins of fresh water. It is chiefly subterranean and probably predatory. References
