Species text
This is an scarce spider-hunting wasp recorded infrequently in southern England. Part 1 of the Provisional Atlas of the aculeate Hymenoptera of Britain and Ireland (Edwards, 1997) shows only 8 post 1969 10km square records. The wasp is found in bushy places, particularly riversides and reed marsh. It stores Clubionid and possibly other spiders in serial cells in hollow stems (eg. of Phragmites). References
