Species text
Old records of the weevil Anthonomus chevrolati suggest that it was widely reported in southern England as far north as Oxfordshire. Hyman & Parsons (1992) state that it was last recorded in 1966 from East Malling, West Kent. It is found in woodland, scrub and hedges and is phytophagous, associated with hawthorn. Open glades, ride margins and hedgerows should be cut on rotation to retain a variety of vegetation structures. References
