Species text
The small black rove beetle Astenus immaculatus is widespread but local in the southern half of England and also recorded in North Wales. It frequents marshy places and has also been found in a wood. It occurs in plant litter, grass tussocks, moss and has also been recorded from haystack litter (Hyman & Parsons, 1994). References
