Species text
This species has a rather restricted distribution in the south-east of England. It was first recorded in Essex in 1938 (Thomas 1943) in a chalk pit at Purfleet, and was still present in chalk pits at Grays in 1988. It has been recorded from several derelict urban and industrial sites within the Essex part of Greater London, and may remain to be recorded at many other similar sites. It has increased considerably in the present century, and its national status may require re-assessment in the near future. The bug is a ground-dwelling species associated especially with black medick Medicago lupulina. References
