Species text
The small dull black rove beetle Brachyusa concolor is a very local species which has been recorded in southern England from East Kent to East Gloucestershire north to Derbyshire. It is associated with marshes and other wetland habitats, including the silty margins of rivers and wet, muddy dyke or pond banks. Drainage and falling water tables because of water abstraction may threaten this species (Hyamn & Parsons, 1994). References
