One county record (1993) from Little Burstead Common. A relatively little known fly.
Species text
The first county record was a male collected by P.R. Harvey at Little Burstead Common in 1993. Nationally it is a relatively little known fly with most records south of a line between the Severn and Vale of Pickering. It occurs in fens, calcareous or neutral grasslands, coastal dunes and broad woodland rides. The larvae are unknown but are thought to be associated with yellow composites such as hawkbits, hawk's-beards or cat's-ear (Stubbs & Falk 2002). References
