Species text
Clubiona juvenis is found in reed beds and fens, including brackish reed beds near the coast. It has only been recorded from 8 post 1980 10km squares in Britain (Harvey et al., 2002), including four in Essex at Stanford Warren, Canvey Wick and Vange Wick Marshes in South Essex and Old Hall Marshes in North Essex. Whilst it can be found in wet litter at ground level, females spin their cocoons in Phragmites heads, so the species is vulnerable to excessive grazing of ditch vegetation. References
