Essex Post-1969 record/s; VC18 1970-on record/s. Mill Meadows 2001. Few UK records, but probably widespread. Two previous Essex records.
Species text
Cryptopleurum crenatum is a small scavenger beetle that is widespread but local in England. This species occurs in damp places and marshland and is probably associated with decaying vegetation and rotting grass. It has also been noted on a marshland dyke just behind a sea wall. References
