Dicheirotrichus obsoletus is a yellowish ground beetle that is widespread in southern estuaries, north to the Wash, but very local, with some records from Scotland. It is found under driftwood and seaweed on saltmarshes and sandy and muddy shores. On saltmarshes grazing should not be introduced where there is no grazing at present Hyman & Parsons, 1992).
