Essex Post-1969 record/s; VC18 pre-1970 record/s. Belton Hills 2001. No other post-1969 Essex records.
Species text
The phytophagous ground beetle Harpalus dimidiatus is restricted to southern England, where it lives on dry calcareous grassland and open ground on chalky soils. (Luff 1998). It is very local but may be abundant where found. P.R. harvey collected the beetle at Belton Hills in 2001. There are no other post-1969 Essex records. References
