This small brown and metallic green water beetle exhibits a curious dichotomy of habitat associations, being abundant in heathland pools in the New Forest, but otherwise known from brackish water ditches and pools in south east England as far north as the Wash, with the greatest concentration of records being around Romney Marsh (Recorder species account).
