Species text
The beetle is widely distributed over most of England and Wales, but the vast majority of records shown in Luff (1998) are old. In Essex it is extremely rare, with the only post-1949 records being from Orsett Golf Course in 1991 and the present site (which adjoins Orsett Golf Course to the south) in 2003. The larvae are ectoparasitoids of chrysomelid larvae and pupae, while the adults are found on vegetation and in tussocks in open grassland (Luff, 2007). References
