Species text
This weevil is widespread and very local around the coasts of England, and also recorded in South Wales and South West Scotland. It occurs on saltmarsh, where it is phytophagous, associated with sea plantain Plantago maritima. Larvae develop in galls at the top of the flowering stem below the inflorescence and apparently the species can suffer high levels of parasitism (Hyman & Parsons, 1992). References
