Species text
This pollen beetle is widespread but local in southern England with scattered records north to South West Scotland. It is associated with Selfheal Prunella vulgaris and stated to be a species of downland and calcareous hillsides (Hyman & Parsons 1994). Lack of management is likely to alter the vegetation structure, which may in turn threaten this species. Disturbance, light grazing or occasional cutting, on a rotational basis, is probably necessary to maintain open conditions. References
