Species text
This is a widespread and but very local beetle in southern England, most frequent in the Brecklands. It occurs on heathland, grassland, and probably hedge-banks. The larvae develop in the flower heads of yarrow and the adults feed on pollen. Grazing or cutting, on a rotational basis, is needed to maintain open conditions (Hyman & Parsons, 1992). References
