Species text
This leafhopper is local but widely distributed in the south-east, rarer or absent elsewhere. Most records are from either East Anglian fens and broads, or from estuarine or other brackish sites near the coast. The most frequent foodplant is common reed Phragmites australis, but it has also been taken from pure stands of sea club-rush Scirpus maritimus, and there may also be other host plants. When associated with reed it can occur both in pure beds of the host or in stands where it is mixed with other plants (Kirby, 1992). References
