Species text
This ladybird is very scarce, and recorded from a few counties in southern England as far north as Nottinghamshire. It has been recorded at the roots of grass, by beating dead hedgerow shrubs and hawthorn blossom, from under broom bushes and, particularly in winter, from under the bark of firs and willows (Hyman & Parsons, 1992). There is a probable association with ants, probably Myrmica species (Peter Hammond, pers. comm.). References
