According to the Recorder species account Sarcophaga similis is a flesh fly recorded mainly from the coast of Hampshire and Dorset in the 1930s and 40s. The few recent records from Cornwall, Berks, Suffolk and Durham are all from coastal localities. In Essex it has been recorded from a few coastal localities. References
