Siphonella oscinina is a small fly recorded from scattered localities in England. It is widespread but localised with seven post-1960 sites (status review in prep.). Habitat preferences are unclear. Larvae are said to have been reared from pine cones and adults have been swept from conifers, but many records are from dry grassland or heath. In Essex the few records are all from near the Thames without obvious association with pines. References
