Species text
This is a widespread but local weevil in England and Wales. It has been recorded from heathland and grassland in sandy or gravelly situations, particularly on open ground and on cliffs with a short turf. The species is phytophagous, usually found at the roots of plants, particularly sheep's sorrel Rumex acetosella. Some grazing, rotational cutting or other disturbance, such as rotovation, may be needed to maintain open conditions. References
