Species text
The first Essex record of the spider Textrix denticulata since the 1930s (Hull 1935) was made by P.R. Harvey at Temple Mills Marshalling Yard in 1999 (Harvey 1999) and this remained the only Essex record until it was found nearby in 2004 at the southern end of East Marsh at Hackney Marshes. Whilst widespread in western and northern Britain the species is very rare in the south-east, where it appears to be restricted to stony habitats in a handful of localities. References
