This very local small rove beetle has a widely scattered distribution over southern England north to South-east Yorkshire. It has been found in wetlands of various kinds, including fens and a dune slack. This species has been found in damp moss, marsh litter, in a Typha bed and especially in reed debris. Water tables should be kept at an adequate level to maintain wet conditions. References
