Species text
More associated with parks and gardens and open woodland rides, the Large White is much scarcer on sea walls than its (usually) smaller cousins. Larval foodplants are crucifers and nasturtium. Greater 'vertical' prevalence of the black wing-tips along the back of the forewing is the distinguishing feature over Small and Green-veined Whites as the variation in size of each species can cause confusion. Hibernates in the pupal state. References
