Apart from an old, undated, report from the Reading area in Berkshire, all records for this species are from the English/Welsh border counties (Gloucestershire, Monmouthshire, Herefordshire, Montgomeryshire), and Yorkshire. The species has been recorded from more than fifteen sites since 1960, twelve of them being in Yorkshire in nine widelyscattered hectads, the majority of them in Pennine valley localities. The wide extent of occurrence indicates Nationally Scarce, and the status has been revised from RDB 1 (Shirt 1987). The majority of records are from riverside localities, but there are also some woodland ones well away from riparian influences. The immature stages are unknown, but larvae of some species have been found in soil or under moss, and they are probably predaceous. Adults of this genus are found running amongst ground vegetation or, more usually, over the surfaces of leaves on bushes and trees where they search for small insects upon which they prey (Falk & Crossley, 2005). The identification is provisional. References
