Two bugs have turned up in Essex recently, and are well worth looking out for in gardens and your general neighbourhood. I found an adult Box Bug Gonocerus acuteangulatus in my garden in Grays sitting on Mahonia next to a large box shrub at the end of August and then some nymphs (one of which matured into an adult several days ago) on wild rose at Walthamstow - so it could easily turn up almost anywhere in Essex.

I have found the Southern Green Shieldbug Nezera viridula near Stanford le Hope recently and Peter Kirby identified a 5th instar nymph I found in Stratford in 2003.
