The many hundreds of 7-Spot Ladybirds hibernating along New Rd, Mistley had been semi active until the snow and frosts drove them deep into the fence post crevices and shrubs. Today in the sunshine they have suddenly become very mobile, wandering about the fences and hedgerows. Do they know the worst has passed ? We even saw a Magpie carrying nest material in the garden. Ever hopeful.
