Yes, this is Xanthogramma pedissequum (although there is believed to be a second and possibly even third British species hidden in the taxon). You will see from the text underneath the maps for hoverflies that the county maps for this group are not based on full county data, so they do not give an accurate picture of the whole recorded distribution. It is a widespread hoverfly, but not usually seen in large numbers.
