Thanks for the info. It is not my speciality, but Little Egret is nowadays one of a number of species that have expanded remarkably in recent times, probably related to climate change. However I believe they are usually found near the coast. The Essex Birdwatching Society state, https://www.ebws.org.uk/node/916 , "Increasingly common resident, passage migrant and winter visitor; first bred in 2000".
